Acupuncture is similar to dry needling in that they both encourage healing through the use of fine needles inserted into the body.

Unlike dry needling, acupuncture involves inserting needles into specific points in the body in order to stimulate the production of endorphins, which affect the brain's perception of pain.

In addition to pain management, acupuncture has been shown to improve the biochemical/energy balance in the body, as well as to facilitate the body's own natural, healing abilities.
